About Waverley My Metall (2013)
Full Name: Waverley My Metall (2013)
Breeding Summary: Metall / De Niro / Banditentraum
Dam: El.(St.Pr.) Drogheda
Height: To make 16.2hh
Approved By: BEF Elite; Oldenburg Premium Foal
A really stunning colt by Metall, out of our Elite Hanoverian mare Drogheda (De Niro/Banditentraum). He won an Elite of 9.15 at the British Equestrian Futurity at 4 months old (the less attractive phase!) and was awarded a Premium by the Oldenburg Verband at his foal inspection. My Metall has inherited the compact, uphill frame of his sire, and his power and lightness of movement. His quarters have been strong and well muscled from the moment he was born, indicating the power to come. And he is so elastic and athletic. He has lovely correct limbs, a compact strong frame with deep brisket, well angled shoulder and a super top line with well set wither and neck. His trot has great cadence and power with expressive front legs and good hock articulation in the hind legs. His canter is balanced, ground covering and expressive, really bring the hind leg under the body. Finally his walk is swinging with a good overtack.
Metall, by Olympic Ferro who was famous for his wonderful canter, is the father of Uthopia and renowned for producing modern refined foals with beautiful heads and light athletic movement. Drogheda, a high scoring State Premium mare (with a 9 for elasticity and swing and all other scores 8 or above) was ridden until she was six and has already bred one licensed stallion and some beautiful young stock. She is sired by De Niro (who topped the WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking for 2012 and 2013 and was 2nd in 2014) and grandsired by the exceptionally beautiful Trakhena stallion Banditentraum. She shares the same grand mother as the Oldenburg Brilliant Ring Championess Soiree D'Amour.
Based in the heart of England (near Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire - home of the British Dressage National Championships) we breed and train a small number of dressage horses each year. Using only Elite or State Premium Dressage mares of good character, together with the best international stallions (all of which are Performance Tested and proven) our stock is of exceptional quality and trainability.
Just thought I'd let you know how Rocco is doing - he is
absolutely massive I'm sure he's going to make about 18h at this rate!
But he'll be big anyway like you said and just what I wanted. He's a
lovely boy and stands very good when having his foal feet trimmed. He
let's me go into him and make a fuss - he's so easy to handle - unlike my other foal who is an evil monster in miniature! Hope you and horses are well x (Apr 2012)
'Monik is just super. A really happy lady to have around. She lives with
her best buddy Nora (a KWPN broodmare) and they are excellent mates!' (Oct 2011). 'She is a fabulous mum and was indeed five days early as you said
she would be! She is a joy to have around. She lives out with her other
broodmare friend and despite the ridiculous weather is pretty happy!' (Jun 2012)
