About Waverley Sir Rocco
Full Name: Waverley Sir Rocco
Breeding Summary: / /
Height: To Make 16.3
Sir Rocco was born on 23rd May just after the ten o'clock news. He was up and cantering around the stable in record time and latched on within 10 minutes of getting up! He is a stunning looking jet black foal with huge 'look at me' presence and intelligence and personality to match making him the yard favourite - hence his name.
His legs are enviably long, with powerful haunches and a statuesque uphill build. He is incredibly athletic with a a massive ground covering walk, an active hind leg that really comes through and a canter that extends and collects effortlessly (he is already doing pirouettes!). Everyone is more than a little in love with this colt.
Sire Santana is a 16.2 hand Warmblood Breeders Studbook Graded Stallion 2009 (Sir Donnerhall/Alabaster/Pik Bube) bred by the Woodlander stud - a horse with 'great uphill balance and elastic gaits'. His pedigree is exceptional, descending from the presitigious sire Sir Donnerhall and one of the very best Hanoverian dam lines. His grand dam was St Pr Pikanje who was German Bundeschampioness as a three year old and laid the foundation for a number of top breeding stallions including Weltregent H and Welt Royal, as well as numerous sporthorses in dressage and showjumping.
Sir Rocco's Grand Sire is Sir Donnerhall - a champion in every respect. Sir Donnerhall's pedigree is the perfect combination of genes from Sandro Hit and Donnerhall and he is out of the Brilliant Ring mare Contenance D. He received the highest dressage index score ever awarded to date of 163 points in his 70-day test. Even as a five year-old Bundeschampion and Vice World Champion he fascinated onlookers wherever he went with his feather-light movements and exceptional presence.
A consistent sire of performance horses, he produced the North Rhine-Westphalian champion stallion Silbermond; one of his sons sold for the highest price of EUR 195,000 at the Hanover auction; he produced two of the premium stallions in Oldenburg and his progeny also include valuable horses such as Sonnenreiter, who sold for EUR 120,000, and Sir Rubinstein, who cost EUR 105,000. In 2008 Schickeria sold at the North Rhine-Westphalian Elite Auction for EUR 355,000 and Sankt Hülfer received the highest bid at the Vechta Auction of EUR 300,000. Sir Donnerhall's first crop of foals includes South German champion stallion Sir Nymphenburg.
Sir Rocco's dam is Rhaja a jet black State Premium Hanoverian mare. Rhaja was bred in Germany and is a jet black State Premium Mare. Happily combining some of the most proven sport horse lines in history, she scored an outstanding 9 for free jumping in her performance test and comes from the legendary ‘R’ show jumping and dressage line. She is a statuesque mare with great conformation, correct cadenced paces and active hind leg. Nothing fazes Rhaja. She is the matriarch of the herd and a highly experienced and tolerant mother, fiercely defending her foals.

'Monik is just super. A really happy lady to have around. She lives with
her best buddy Nora (a KWPN broodmare) and they are excellent mates!' (Oct 2011). 'She is a fabulous mum and was indeed five days early as you said
she would be! She is a joy to have around. She lives out with her other
broodmare friend and despite the ridiculous weather is pretty happy!' (Jun 2012)
Just thought I'd let you know how Rocco is doing - he is
absolutely massive I'm sure he's going to make about 18h at this rate!
But he'll be big anyway like you said and just what I wanted. He's a
lovely boy and stands very good when having his foal feet trimmed. He
let's me go into him and make a fuss - he's so easy to handle - unlike my other foal who is an evil monster in miniature! Hope you and horses are well x (Apr 2012)
