Waverley Dancing in the Dark, born May 1, 2015, is a beautifully correct uphill model, with a very dark bay (almost black) coat. He has super paces and is full of energy, highly athletic and bold. He is line bred to Rubinstein (the stallion featuring on both sides of his pedigree).
Dam, Royal Romantic, by Rhodiamant x Donnerhall x Figaro, is from a family of Oldenburg 'royalty'. Her mother, grandmother and great grandmother were all Elite and State Premium mares, and her breeder is convinced that Royal Romantic will be Elite too as soon as her competition progeny are old enough - all of them to date have been Oldenburg premium foals. Out of 45 individuals in the mareline, 13 have licensed as Dressage or Showjumping stallions. Her maternal grandmother produced two licensed stallions and eight horses successful in sport at PSG or above. Her mother produced only Elite or State Premium mares and all Royal Romantic’s children who are old enough are progressing in dressage. Royal Romantic's mother, grandmother, and great grandmother have all been awarded Elite status due to their breeding achievements.
His sire Danciano was the Premium stallion and price highlight of the 2012 licensing in Verden and was my favourite stallion of the class. The following year at his 30-day performance test in Schlickau, he achieved the second highest score of 8.91 for stallions with an emphasis on dressage. His trot was awarded a 10. He particularly known for exemplary rideability.
Danciano is by the German State Stud owned stallion Dancier. Dancier was Champion Stallion in Verden in 2004; winner of the stallion performance test at Adelheidsdorf in 2005; Vice Riding Horse Champion of Hanover in 2006 and Bronze Medallist of the four old stallions at the Bundeschampionship Warendorf. He has now produced more than 20 licensed sons and counting. Dam sire Rotspon was premium sire at the Verden licensing in 1997 and champion of the stallion peformance test in 1998; while in the third generation, Wolkenstein II, is probably the most influential son of Weltmeyer, who won the Bundeschampionship and the stallion performamnce test in 1993.

About Waverley Stud
Based in the heart of England (near Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire - home of the British Dressage National Championships) we breed and train a small number of dressage horses each year. Using only Elite or State Premium Dressage mares of good character, together with the best international stallions (all of which are Performance Tested and proven) our stock is of exceptional quality and trainability.
Leni won the 4 year old class at Manor Grange yesterday with a score of 8.46. He was an absolute star. Thrilled with him. He has a real work ethic and three fabulous paces, so we're excited about his future.
